Local leaders, rooted in Christ and committed to Christ-centered education, have asked for your help to provide academic support and foster discipling relationships, with the hope of building a lasting partnership.

Ontario Village, Belize
The surrounding area of Ontario Village is an often-overlooked and very poor community in Belize. It is home to many Mestizo and Garifuna families, some of whom live on the hills surrounding the city center. While some families have running water and electricity, many do not. Most residents work in agriculture or local industries, with the annual income for most families falling under $2,500 dollars each year.
The partner school is a vibrant Christian school connected with a local church. The ministry has a strong foundation and is rooted deeply in Christian values and biblical principles. They recently stepped out in faith to build a brand new church and school facility—one of the best in the country. Though partnerships with U.S. schools and churches have been difficult since COVID, they remain faithful and are looking for a school partner to walk alongside them.

Ways to Serve This Community
Academic Support
Your team can provide hands-on academic support and leadership development to the school's students. Depending on the time of year, this might include supporting the school program by observing or even teaching in daily classes or helping with physical work projects around the campus as needed.
Cultivate Discipleship
This unique partnership offers the chance to build genuine, one-on-one relationships and practice evangelism with their students. Your team can run after-school discipleship programs or teach in Bible classes, helping students learn about following Christ daily and passionately.
Long-Term Partnership: Becoming a Sister School
The partner school is actively seeking a long-term Christian high school partner from the U.S. to walk alongside them biblically and academically. This partnership would provide opportunities for the administration to gain valuable insight, for teachers to attend training workshops, and for students who are craving one-on-one discipling relationships with vibrant believers their age.
What a Week Could Look Like
Every GO Serve trip is tailored to your group, but here's a sample of how a week in Ontario Village might unfold.
Travel Day

- Attend church in the Ontario Village community
- Team training, devotions, and light exploration
Service Day
- A full day of service where we will attend morning devotions with students, observe or teach in daily school classes, and complete work projects around the school campus as needed

- A second full day of service, where we will continue to run an after-school sports program or discipleship program for high school students
Service Day
- Our last day in the community, followed by a farewell service

- Our last day in the community, followed by a farewell service
Adventure Day
- Abide Day! We will enjoy a fun day exploring Mayan ruins or swimming in the Blue Hole, followed by a celebratory restaurant evening and a team debrief to reflect on the week's blessings

- Travel to the airport and head home
